Quite Quietly...

The bony face with bloodshot eyes stared back at her as she looked in the mirror. Yet again she had spent her night crying.

The endless fights with her husband and the jabs from her in-laws had sucked the happiness out of her soul. The only thing that had kept her anchored was her children.

She had stood rock hard and faced every situation. But now they had grown up, instead of easing her pain, they added more to it.

She walked out into the night quite quietly, as for once she decided to live for herself instead of others!

  4. It is doubly sad that even her children for whose sake she put up with indignities added to her woes.

  5. Very true to like, Swathi. I'm glad she walked out. That is why I always feel that 'staying for the sake of the children' never works!
